After the season 1 finale an official announcement declares that Jericho is dead. But the decision was not okay with fans that campaigned to get the series back. When it was cancelled, thousands of pounds of peanuts were sent to the CBS network by the fans to get the series back. Finally, their efforts do pay and Jericho returns with another season.

Jericho season 2 was premiered on 2-12-2008 and the season opener was entitled ‘Reconstruction’. Season 1 ends with a battle between the residents of Jericho and New Bern and as the second season opens, Jericho is dealing with the rebuilding process. The Cheyenne government shows a special interest in the show and tries to sort out the matter between the two cities. Only 7 episodes were aired during the second season and various plot developments include- Jericho receives a very special guest from the Cheyenne Government; Jake and the Rangers trying to find out a way to protect Jericho; Ranger makes a choice that may change his life; Hawkins is trying to find out who is after the attacks of September. Season finale ‘Patriots and Tyrants’ was aired on 3-25-2008. On this episode, Hawkins and Jake do get an opportunity to reveal the conspiracy after the attacks of September 11. But doing that proves to be the most difficult part of their plan.

As Ranger has decided to take justice into their own hands, it makes Major Beck to go to extreme measures to prove that everything in the town is completely under control. Chavez makes a call to Hawkins and tells him that it’s the right time to export the bomb.
