Jericho begins on 9-20-2006 and it faces a disaster on the very first episode of series. Several terrorist attacks cause a nuclear tragedy and it wipes out most of the North America. After this incident, People of Jericho become paranoiac about each other.

Jake returns to his hometown of Jericho. Late on this season, Jake and other residents find out that the official shelter and damaged and they must have to move to some other safe area; Stanley is taken to hospital for radiation treatment; a dead body is found in a mine and no one knows what really happened; a stranger comes in town and gets in a trouble, it makes Jake and heather to decide whether they should save his life or not; all residents are made aware through an announcement that help is coming; residents do realize that its’ only up to them to keep the peace; Mayor Johnston is stricken by a flu and Jack and Eric are trying to find the medicine to save his life; all people are reminded by the mayor to have all the supplies tested before using them. Mid-season special episode ‘Return to Jericho’ recaps all the events of the past 11 episodes. After this episode, season begins with its next plot and 11 episodes were aired after this special episode. Season ends on 5-9-2007 and the season finale ‘Why we fight’. Season closes as the residents of this mysterious town have survived the attack on their town but it’s not an end to their troubles.
