I am sure in the history of American Television Jericho is the only TV show which was brought back on the popular demand after being cancelled once only to be cancelled after seven episodes of the second season. If poor ratings were the real culprit, then what profitability do the producers fathom from the Jericho Movie or Jericho comics?

After CBS canceled Jericho TV Show in May 2007, fans began sending nuts to the network in reference to the shows final episode, in which the main character referenced the Battle of the Bulge when he answered “NUTS” to a request to surrender. Within three weeks over 8 million nuts had been shipped to CBS NY and CBS LA offices totaling over 40,000 pounds. Nina Tassler, president of CBS, sent out a memo on 6 June 2007 declaring that they had ordered seven more episodes to air within the year and requesting the fans to stop sending nuts…

In Germany the series suffered even a worse fate. It was canceled in after episode #14 “Heart of Winter” by Pro7.

Jericho TV Show was aired in Australia within a day of being aired in the US up until the mid-season break. After the break, Network Ten failed to return the show to air for around 2 months after the US. This delay, combined with lack of advertising and a poor time slot led to Jericho being “shelved” after Episode #1.13 “Black Jack”. Unfortunately this Jericho was not the only cult series that suffered such a fate. Battlestar Galactica was another such series that became victim of such fate.

When Jericho TV Show began airing ‘Ashley Scott’ received second billing and Lennie James was billed third. Things changed after 16th episode and James started receiving second billing and Scott third.

Esai Morales appeared in every season 2 episode but for reasons only known to the show creators he was not billed as a series regular.

It has been a trend to make movie versions of TV shows for a long time but only the popular and well accepted shows are turned into movies. As of now, it’s apparent that Jericho has no future, and not even a tiny possibility of its retrieval, is here. Jericho’s cancellation hurt me more than anything else, as this was the only one TV show which I used to watch. I am not a TV fanatic but it was Jericho which turned me towards TV. And, I became addicted to it. When the news of its cancellation, after two seasons only, came out, I was more than disturbed. Online campaigns made me feel a little relaxed, but all went in vain and ‘Jericho’ never returned! Why a show with such a unique plotline failed to get more seasons?  Why didn’t it get good response from viewers? The questions are to be answered, but who will answer…don’t know!

Among the characters of the series, I love Gary Anderson, played by Michael Gaston, the most. He’s the owner of the salt mine and is the contender for the position of the mayor of Jericho. Moreover, he’s also the main political enemy of Johnston Green. Throughout the show, we saw him gaining more political powers. Soon, he was elected the mayor, as the replacement of Green. And, after sitting on the chair of mayor, his first goal was to find a new power source, which later resulted in the construction of a windmill. The man performed brilliantly on ‘Jericho’ and it was enough for me to become a fan of him.

Well, talking about my favorite episode of Jericho, picking up a single one would not be an easy chore. All episodes aired during the two seasons of Jericho were fantastic and very entertaining ones. So, it would be partial to name just one amongst them! What was the end to Jericho??? Season-sum-series finale ‘Patriots and Tyrants’ answers this question…

Episode was aired on 3-25-2008 and it shows Jake and Hawkins do have a single chance to disclose the mystery behind the September attacks and Cheyenne cover up to the independent Texas administration. Beck faces some non-pleasant truths and Constantino offers a partnership. However, getting there proves to be the most difficult part of their plan. Here ends a great season… however it was not a sufficient end to a great show.

Second season was too short with just seven episodes. I think it was the shortest TV season ever aired. Season commences on February 12, 2008 with the season opener entitled ‘Reconstruction’. Season begins with Cheyenne government orders an end to the controversies between Jericho and New Bern. On the very same point, Major Beck decides to do something that may help Jericho to regain its power and communication system.

Well, my fave episode on this season was ‘Oversight’, the one where Hawkins receives a call from his contact John Smith. John makes him aware that one day he’ll be kept down by Major Beck. It was aired on March 4, 2008. Finally, series ends on March 25 and no hopes for more episodes from the show…

A special episode ‘Patriots. And. Tyrants (Alternative Ending’ was also aired during this season. It shows exactly what was aired on the season finale episode.

Why series is cancelled??? What fans do want??? All this things have been covered in my previous posts… go ahead if wanna read…. Let’s hope for the best and also for another season from the show!!! Of now… I am going as feeling sleepy after a very tired day!!! Good Night….

As we all know that series was cancelled after the finale episode of first season due to poor ratings. But fans campaigned to bring their fave series so Jericho returns with another season. Good attempts were made by the fans to let their fave show survive even with poor ratings.

ay with Jericho fans fought for their fave show; let’s adopt the way to make this world an ideal world where everyone will have a smile on his/her face. Unfortunately and unluckily, series is put on hiatus once again by the network after the second season finale. Second season was too short, just and must seven episodes and no updates till date. But fans are not turned down. According to a survey conducted on thousands of Jericho fans, no one wants to give up the show as lots of things are still unsolved and another season is required. They still believe that Jericho has much more to air so it must be back whether on CBS or on some other network. As per the words of the fans- Cliffhangers are left and we do need solutions means one more season. A billboard has been rented by the fans in Los Angeles asking for someone to pick up their fave drama.

SO, finally another campaign for Jericho has been commenced by the fans and they are planning to take up their campaign to an upper level with attempts to buy television ads to promote their cause.

Don’t know what will be the result of this campaign but I am pretty sure that whenever fans do struggle, it pays them their fave show back on their TV sets. Let’s see whether Jericho returns or not?? I am also in favor of its return as being a huge fan of the series and I can’t let the series shut down…. Hope, Jericho is back!!

Jericho is basically an American serial drama and this fascinating series is about the lives of the residents of Jericho, Kansas. Series begins when Jake Green returns to his home-town Jericho, where his dad Johnston is a mayor. Usually ongoing life takes a sudden change after a nuclear cloud appears and takes everything under its reflection. This unexpected nuclear explosion destroys 23 American cites and normal life-style and peaceful homes of this small town are rushed into chaos, and the town becomes completely segregated from the rest of the world.

Every resident seems confused what has happened to them and where the rest of the Nation is while having no means of communication and no sources of power. Just imagine how much difficult life would be on such kinda town where you don’t know where the remained population is and you don’t have any sources to contact anyone. Actually, that’s why show is liked very much by the viewers because everyone starts having sympathy for the people who’re isolated. WOW!!! A great show …… which demonstrates the personal power that anyone do have when it comes to face unimagined hardships.

Series also centers on the backgrounds of the leading characters, value of family, hard side of fatherhood and many more issues. It was premiered on September 20, 2006 and the series finale was aired on March 25, 2008. It ran on CBS. Success was not that easy for series as it grabbed only a limited no. of viewers during season 1 so show was cancelled after the finale of first season due to poor ratings.

Hats off to fans that campaigned to convince the network to let the series back once again for second season.
