Before we continue, tell me what are the basic requirements for a show to be on air for several years? Most probably, you would answer- unique storyline, interesting as well as entertaining characters and a nice way of representing the stuff. Then, why does Jericho got cancelled?

Jericho received very poor response from viewers during the first season and got canceled subsequently.  Fans protested and succeeded to bring the show back to TV for the second season which lasted for seven episodes only. And, finally Jericho got cancelled forever.

And, as of now, rumors are spreading around that Jericho would return on the big screen. Even the producer of the series, John Turteltaub, has also given hints about it. In an interview given to some private channel, the man said that stars Skeet Ulrich and Ashley Scott will make appearances on the movie version of ‘Jericho’. He also added, “It’s fun to see the show won’t die. We’re developing a feature for ‘Jericho’. It would not require you to have seen the TV show, but it gets into life after an event like this on a national scale. It would be the bigger, full on American version of what’s going on beyond the town in ‘Jericho’. So, the takes are high!

So, the Jericho fans, what do you think, would a series which hardly survived for two seasons (even not two complete seasons) do a good job at the box office? Nothing can be said. It has been a trend to make movie versions of TV shows for a long time but only the popular and well accepted shows are turned into movies. For example, we can talk about Sex and the City Movie version. Sex and the City is one of the most popular shows of American TV so we can understand why the creators brought it in form of movie. Honestly, I can’t understand what makes Jericho creators to bring it back in form of a movie. Well, let’s see how it goes

As of now, it’s apparent that Jericho has no future, and not even a tiny possibility of its retrieval, is here. Jericho’s cancellation hurt me more than anything else, as this was the only one TV show which I used to watch. I am not a TV fanatic but it was Jericho which turned me towards TV. And, I became addicted to it. When the news of its cancellation, after two seasons only, came out, I was more than disturbed. Online campaigns made me feel a little relaxed, but all went in vain and ‘Jericho’ never returned! Why a show with such a unique plotline failed to get more seasons?  Why didn’t it get good response from viewers? The questions are to be answered, but who will answer…don’t know!

Among the characters of the series, I love Gary Anderson, played by Michael Gaston, the most. He’s the owner of the salt mine and is the contender for the position of the mayor of Jericho. Moreover, he’s also the main political enemy of Johnston Green. Throughout the show, we saw him gaining more political powers. Soon, he was elected the mayor, as the replacement of Green. And, after sitting on the chair of mayor, his first goal was to find a new power source, which later resulted in the construction of a windmill. The man performed brilliantly on ‘Jericho’ and it was enough for me to become a fan of him.

Well, talking about my favorite episode of Jericho, picking up a single one would not be an easy chore. All episodes aired during the two seasons of Jericho were fantastic and very entertaining ones. So, it would be partial to name just one amongst them! The series that had to go through lots of ups and downs, in its small tenure of almost one and a half year, had potential. I still don’t know the reason why the series was cancelled. Jericho was a series that was different from the rest and portrayed the condition of the world, if there continues to be the threat of nuclear bombs all around. Do you think that the series that almost forecasted the situation of the world deserved to be cancelled?

Anyways, I am writing this just in order to refresh my old good sweet memories of our own Jericho. In the first season of the series, we are shown the town of Jericho, which is destroyed after the nuclear attacks. In the beginning only we are told that the town is now isolated from all other nearby towns and is deprived of all modern amenities. So now we know that they are trying hard to survive and connect to the rest of the world. During their this time of hardship, various themes like that of community identity, public order, limited resources, the value of family and external threats are brought out in the series. Jake Green, the protagonist of the series, then takes the responsibility of protecting this shattered town and its people. He, together with the remaining residents of the town, fights and tries to adjust in this changed environment, not knowing that there are people among them who know much more about the attacks. Revolving around this theme of struggle for survival, Jericho became one of my favorite series. But, the sad part is that shortly after the series entered its second season, it was called cancelled. I wish I could get to see some more episodes of the series, which I know is near to impossible.

After, all the disappointment that the Jericho fans had to undergo, I have good news for all of them. I know it was very disheartening when the series got cancelled and it was all the more discouraging when the series got cancelled for the second time and that also in the middle of second season. Well, guys the good news is that, there are chances that ‘Jericho’ could be moving to the big screen. The stars of the show Ashley Scott and Brad Bayer, have confirmed the news that there are chances of the show being turned into a movie. It is only that everyone is waiting for the final conformation.

Both the stars of the show were very excited about the news and said that they would love to be a part of the movie. They both were of the view that it was a wonderful idea to make a movie version of the show. Bayer, even went ahead to say that, as they have not even completed the second season of the series, they can continue doing the movie in whatever way they want to. He said that they can actually refer to many prospects that were left unresolved in the series.

Now, tell me isn’t that a good news. We all have been so upset, when the series had to be stopped in the middle of second season. I am sure this news is like a treat for all ‘Jericho’ fans. Jericho’s cancellation will open new doors for its star cast as everyone is looking for something else after its cancellation… the latest change is brought in by Lennie James who has recently joined the cast of ‘The Prisoner’. This is the next name after Jim Caviezel, Ian McKellen, and Ruth Wilson on The Prisoner. Well, Lennie James was playing Robert Hawkins on this popular show and now on his new series ‘The Prisoner’ he will be playing Number 147 who is a resident of a very mysterious village where Number 6, a former secret agent finds himself imprisoned.

I think it’s good decision … after all why to think about a series which is dead and James and taken a very wise step… all the best to you for your new show and all your fans are ready to see you in a brand new role on a new show….

His character on Jericho was very much liked by the fans. On the series, he plays Robert Hawkins who moves to Jericho along with his family. …. A good role portrayed by a very skilled actor….

So, Lennie is moved and who’ll be the next one on the row…. I think everyone wants to move and is looking for better opportunities. What was the end to Jericho??? Season-sum-series finale ‘Patriots and Tyrants’ answers this question…

Episode was aired on 3-25-2008 and it shows Jake and Hawkins do have a single chance to disclose the mystery behind the September attacks and Cheyenne cover up to the independent Texas administration. Beck faces some non-pleasant truths and Constantino offers a partnership. However, getting there proves to be the most difficult part of their plan. Here ends a great season… however it was not a sufficient end to a great show.

Second season was too short with just seven episodes. I think it was the shortest TV season ever aired. Season commences on February 12, 2008 with the season opener entitled ‘Reconstruction’. Season begins with Cheyenne government orders an end to the controversies between Jericho and New Bern. On the very same point, Major Beck decides to do something that may help Jericho to regain its power and communication system.

Well, my fave episode on this season was ‘Oversight’, the one where Hawkins receives a call from his contact John Smith. John makes him aware that one day he’ll be kept down by Major Beck. It was aired on March 4, 2008. Finally, series ends on March 25 and no hopes for more episodes from the show…

A special episode ‘Patriots. And. Tyrants (Alternative Ending’ was also aired during this season. It shows exactly what was aired on the season finale episode.

Why series is cancelled??? What fans do want??? All this things have been covered in my previous posts… go ahead if wanna read…. Let’s hope for the best and also for another season from the show!!! Of now… I am going as feeling sleepy after a very tired day!!! Good Night….

I know every body knows it very well that Jericho is cancelled and the second season finale ‘Patriots and Tyrants’ was the series finale episode. I do watch very little TV… but still cancellations do hurt me… I am really hurt by the news of Jericho’s cancellation… it’s always a very sad day when shows got cancelled and no one cares about what fans do want??

Last year series was cancelled which made the fans to rally behind it. After a struggle, series returns but again an official announcement of its cancellation. CBS entertainment president Nina Tesslar has said that Jericho would not return for a third season. She says, “Jericho” will not be returning for a third season. “The March 25th episode of Jericho will be the series finale,” Well… what to do…. Let’s take hands in hands to convince them and to get our all time fave Jericho back!!! Passionate viewers are watching the show and everyone simply wishes to have more. These are the fans only that provided a base and helped the series to keep the show alive long this…. Writers, producers, creators, crew and fans- combination of all these parts delivers a compelling as well as high quality drama.

Don’t much about what star-cast says about all this… but I am pretty much sure that everyone is just shocked by the cancellations and they’ll be moving towards another TV shows …. When Jericho has no future…. I am gathering the required info and upcoming post will be telling who’s going where when it’s over!! A great effort was made and a great second season was brought in… but still again the very same condition where no chances of series’ retrieval…… I think fans that were responsible for its retrieval are also responsible for its cancellations as we put life back into it but everyone forgot to take the knife out of its heart so as a result Jericho is dead!!!

Ah!!! We can’t let the series cancelled!!!!

As we all know that series was cancelled after the finale episode of first season due to poor ratings. But fans campaigned to bring their fave series so Jericho returns with another season. Good attempts were made by the fans to let their fave show survive even with poor ratings.

ay with Jericho fans fought for their fave show; let’s adopt the way to make this world an ideal world where everyone will have a smile on his/her face. Unfortunately and unluckily, series is put on hiatus once again by the network after the second season finale. Second season was too short, just and must seven episodes and no updates till date. But fans are not turned down. According to a survey conducted on thousands of Jericho fans, no one wants to give up the show as lots of things are still unsolved and another season is required. They still believe that Jericho has much more to air so it must be back whether on CBS or on some other network. As per the words of the fans- Cliffhangers are left and we do need solutions means one more season. A billboard has been rented by the fans in Los Angeles asking for someone to pick up their fave drama.

SO, finally another campaign for Jericho has been commenced by the fans and they are planning to take up their campaign to an upper level with attempts to buy television ads to promote their cause.

Don’t know what will be the result of this campaign but I am pretty sure that whenever fans do struggle, it pays them their fave show back on their TV sets. Let’s see whether Jericho returns or not?? I am also in favor of its return as being a huge fan of the series and I can’t let the series shut down…. Hope, Jericho is back!!

Jericho begins on 9-20-2006 and I am a great fan of series right from its beginning. Exactly two years ago, a great journey commences and the commencement was not as usual. Nuclear explosions gave it a start so as a result the town of Jericho gets isolated from the rest of the Nation. I still remember the pilot episode which wipes out most of the North America after some terrorist attacks. As being a regular viewer of series and also being a great fandom, I was completely disturbed when Jericho was announced for cancellation after the season 1 finale ‘Why We Fight’ on 5-9-2007. Why?? Why to cancel such a great show?? But thanks to thousands of fans who took the field to get it back. Finally, Jericho returns with another season but with seven episodes only. Second season was premiered on 2-12-2008 and the season opener was entitled ‘Reconstruction’. Along with the start of second season, Jericho starts getting involved with rebuilding process when Cheyenne Government shows an interest in the town. Only seven episodes were announced for season so it was cut-off on 3-25-2008 with the season finale ‘Patriots and Tyrants’.

As of now, it’s difficult to say a single word about another season or what would be the future of the show. However, fans are once again on the roads to get the show back.
